Marvel’s slate looks cramped with almost 8 releases in the next 20 months. While some of them are new introductions into this highly successful cinematic universe, most of them are sequels to already successful films. Marvel’s Disney+ series Loki has introduced the concept of Multiverse which opened gates for Marvel to bring back fan favorite characters from Sony and Fox universes of Marvel Characters.
Eternals which is slated to release on November 5, 2021 will introduce three new races to the world of MCU: The Celestials, The Deviants and The Eternals. Spider-Man: No Way Home which is slated to release on December 17, 2021 is rumored to bring back many characters from Raimi’s trilogy and Webb’s duology. Among them Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus has been definitively confirmed in the new teaser release while the teaser also hints about other famous villains such as Green Goblin, The Lizard, Sandman and Electro. The most exciting part of rumors about No Way Home is the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. It will certainly be a visual treat for fans if this happens.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which is slated to release on March 25, 2022 is being dubbed as the most ambitious project of MCU’s Phase 4. Many scoopers on social media platforms are reporting that multiple characters from Fox-verse’s X Men will crossover into MCU and will fight Wanda. The Marvels, a sequel to Captain Marvel (2019), which is slated to release on November 11, 2022 will feature Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel (Who will be introduced in upcoming Disney+ series) and Monica Rambeau and is rumored to bring in characters from the Netflix’s Agents of Shield into the MCU.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania, which is slated to release on February 17, 2023 will introduce MCU’s next big bad villain, Kang the Conqueror, whose variant He Who Remains has already been introduced in Disney+ series Loki. It is rumored that this film will act as a crossover event of the Phase 4 where in many of the existing heroes will come together to fight.
Looking at all the confirmed and unconfirmed reported till now, it certainly looks like almost every film in Phase 4 is going to be a big cinematic event in the MCU.
